    Hi Pete,

    Thank you for your message.

The Stabila LAX300 comes in a padded carry pouch which is slightly larger than the instrument itself. It is always recommended that the LAX300 is transported in this.

The weight of the instrument plus pouch is 0.575g

    Width: 160mm

    Depth: 90mm

    Height: 130mm

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Simon,

Yes, the LAX300 and LAX400 both feature a sliding transit latch which locks the pendulum and ensures the pendulum doesn't move around when in transit.

Question:

Hello. Can you tell me what is the horizontal beam coverage in degrees in stabila laser lax300? I can't find that information anywhere. I know lax 200 is 150 degrees. Also how strong is lax300 comparing to lax200. Lax200 can take drop from 3' is lax300 made to the same standards? it says robust case but nothing else which is a shame because I am very interested with lax300 but after having 2 PLS180 lasers broken I am after one which will last for a bit longer. What would you recomend. Kind Regards. Michal

    Hello Michal

    Thanks for the interesting questions.

We have just measured the horizontal beam fan angle of the LAX 300 for you and its 120 deg., narrower than your quoted LAX 200 value of 150 deg.

There is no quoted "drop test" value that we can find for the LAX 300. Its just quoted as being robust!

As for brightness, it is better than the older LAX200 model.

However, unless you need pulsed output & a long optional outdoor detector range (ie. the LAX 300 is favourite) then why not consider the Spectra LT-20.

The Spectra LT-20 is the brightest of all the red cross line lasers we have currently in stock. The measured fan angle on the horizontal beam is 135 deg. Quite a wide spread. It has NO transit latch (it does not need it) as the pendulum mechanism is well built with a 1m drop test value.

In our opinion, its a better choice for your needs.

    And a competitive price too.

If you do go for it, please leave an honest review because we value your knowledgeable opinions.

    Kind regards

    Ian Roberts

Question:

Hi, I am a civil engineer who does a lot of site construction work and interior finishing work. I need a very good laser level that will help me get straight lines, 90 degree angles and also one that can guide my plastering / rendering. So tired of curved walls and uneven edges. I believe I would also need a tripod stand to help adjust the level of the laser. What do you recommend for me? You can also email me at K.runsewe@gmail.com Regards

    Hi Engr,
The Stabila LAX300 is a fantastic laser but if a key requirement is the ability to easily set 90° then there are better products.

A more suitable choice would be the Fukuda EK-226P:

The Fukuda EK-226P is a fully self levelling red beam laser which combines the traditional vertical beam intersected by a horizontal beam (cross line) with a secondary vertical beam set at 90° for all your setting-out and squaring requirements.

A plumb dot is fired out of the base of the laser and the intersection point of the two verticals essentially produces a plumb dot on the ceiling.

The cross line laser is seated on a metal 360° rotate base with the standard 5/8" tripod thread, allowing it to be mounted on a tripod, wall bracket or floor to ceiling pillar kit.

It can also be paired with an optional detector which takes the range to 50M and allows the laser to be used outdoors.

The Tripod you require is the TRI-02:

Question:

I have a new system of re-configurable partition panels to build square or oblong rooms. I need a line laser to get the panels set out from a corner at a true right angle. So I really want two laser lines at a true right angle so that operatives can connect the panels down one wall whilst another team connect the panels at right angles at the same time. That is why I want two lines rather than just turning the laser through 90 degrees. When they get to the end of the wall they would move the laser system there and have one line going back down the wall they have just erected then do the third side of the room. Then they would move it to the third corner and repeat the process and hopefully when the complete the fourth side of the room the panels will marry together.

    Hi,

A product like the fully self levelling Fukuda EK-226P combined with the optional FD-9R Detector would be more suitable for your specific application because it has 2 x vertical beams at 90deg as well as the traditional horizontal beam.

    For more information please visit:

    http://www.laser-level.co.uk/ek-226p-laser-cross-line-level.html

If you opt for this product, please ensure you do tick the box to add the optional detector which is critical for outdoor use.

Question:

I am looking for a good all round laser level would the stabila lax 300 be OK for floor tiling ?

Answers:

  • Posted by Laser Levels Online - Support on Wednesday 18th of December 2013

    Hi Mike,

The Stabila LAX 300 is a stunningly good Laser and would be ideal for all internal applications.

Another alternative laser would be the Fukuda EK-226P which also has a secondary vertical which would aid setting out / squaring.

If you have any further questions or require any additional assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.
