Product overview:

The FRE-301R is accurate,  well featured & competitively priced.

Its a professional laser level kit from the Fukuda Laser Company. They are specialists in their field of laser level manufacture & certified to ISO-9001.

The FRE-301R quickly auto levels to set horizontally or vertically and set site 90 degree squaring. A very useful feature.

In addition the laser can be switched to Manual mode where the spinning beam can set a grade (fall) in the X axis, Y axis or both together (dual grade).

You can only grade match with this system and not key in a value, however it will set up to a 1:11 (8.75%) grade.

Features:

For Indoor & Outdoor use with a 635nm, class II visible red laser
Sealed water-proof construction
Self-levelling both horizontally & vertically
Up dot for setting Plumb & groundworks squaring
Accurate 3 axis electronic sensor
IR control via handheld Remote
Anti-Drift system (Bump sensor)
Dual Grade & SCAN facility
Auto shut-off - if instrument goes outside of its levelling range
Low battery indication
Rechargeable battery system
Full 24 months parts & labour Warranty

You have the facility to totally stop or move the red dot slowly in either direction using the remote control. Rotational speed is adjustable in 4 increments up to max. of 600 rpm.
For Indoor use, the SCAN facility comes into its own. This enables the User to stop the dot, then make it oscillate as a short intense red line in one area of the room only. Left/right keys on the remote control moves this laser line to the exact area of working. A really useful feature.

Grading:

You can keep XX axis auto level, whilst setting a Grade (tilt angle) on the YY axis. This is helpful for setting falls of drainage, car-parks & access ways. Or you can set grades in both axis together (ie. DUAL Grade facility).

Additionally, a perfectly plumb laser dot is generated above the instrument via the prism system. With the instrument set on its side to spin vertically, this dot can be used to set 90 degree right angles for groundworks Squaring etc.

Purchase options:

Upgrade the kit to include the Fukuda FRD800 Detector - The perfect choice for the Fukuda FRE-301R!

Fukuda Lasers have developed a "top of the range" detector for the Professional Trades person which is easy-to-use and accurate. It is ideal for use with any brand of rotating red beam laser level.

The FRD800 Laser Detector is a highly versatile, well featured laser receiver for both basic and advanced leveling and aligning applications; designed for general, concrete and site preparation contractors.

It features a digital readout of elevation that provides a numeric display of +/-45mm to 1mm resolution. Accurate measurements can be made without moving the rod clamp, saving time and increasing productivity. The readout is displayed on large front and rear LCD's, showing exactly how far the elevation is from on-grade. A back-light assists readings in low ambient lighting.

Selectable units of measurement can be displayed to meet your specific application: in mm, cm or inches. A 125mm long red pick-up window, more than double the industry standard, allows quick acquisition of the laser beam. Readings are shown in three ways: via back and front LCD, coloured LED indication and by audible sound, selectable loud/normal/off.

This detector is designed to survive tough construction site conditions, being water and dustproof to IP55.

It can be used as either a hand-held or staff mounted detector for a wide range of construction applications.

Features:

Digital readout of elevation to +/-45mm, so not only will high or low arrows be displayed, but the exact distance from grade will also be numerically displayed. This eliminates the need to get exactly "on-grade" to make measurements, thus speeding up setting-out.

Large 125mm reception height acquires the beam quickly and makes it easy to stay in the beam.

Simultaneous elevation LED's signal in low light levels and over a longer range for easier reading in poor light conditions.

Multiple deadband sensitivity settings, three in all, allows adaptation to meet all your jobsite requirements.

Dust and weatherproof housing to IP55.

Continuous usage, 40 hours battery life with auto switch off facility.

FRD800 Detector upgrade includes:

FRD800 instrument

4 x type AA alkaline batteries

Mounting clamp bracket

Instruction & safety manual

Please Note: If you upgrade to the FRD800 Detector, the default Detector will be removed from the kit.

Calibration and servicing:

We check and calibrate all Lasers prior to dispatch, to ensure they meet or exceed the manufacturers published specifications at the time of shipment from the factory.
If you routinely work on large job sites, which require you to have a physical Calibration certificate, issued in your name and matched to the Laser via its serial number, you must ensure you tick the above box marked "Paper Certificate" (where applicable) to add a Calibration certificate to your order. The Certificate will then be generated and included with your Laser. Please note the issuing of a Calibration certificate DOES NOT delay or hold up the despatch of your Laser in any way.

Kit comprises of:

Calibrated FRE-301R Laser instrument (colour may differ from that pictured)
Laser Detector with mounting clamp bracket (Option to upgrade to FRD800 Detector)
IR Remote Control
Rechargeable battery pack for laser
Mains charger unit

Batteries for Detector & Remote Control

Question:

hi I am looking to buy a laser level I would like it to do a vertical line from the floor to ceiling, across the ceiling ,down the opposite wall and join along the floor to do a horizontal line meeting all around a kitchen or bedroom to do a vertical spot to do a 90degree square marked on the floor also I would like to buy a laser pole that fits floor to ceiling in which the laser would fit onto to enable the laser to be adjusted for the horizontal line thank you

    Hello James

For your application the FRE-301R nor any other of our rotatary lasers are NOT the best choice.

You need to opt for a Multiline laser kit instead.

    Please see Fukuda FLE-444R:

    http://www.laser-level.co.uk/products/laser-cross-line/fle-444rd-laser-cross-line-level.html

    or Stanley X3G green beam:

To save money, you do not need a detector, so untick the box if ordering.

Question:

hi looking to get a new laser for myself i have and always had leica rotating lasers. i put laser levels in google and your site came up. the fre-301r with the detector up grade seems to be the one, never used this type of detector before so i take as your digging it can tell you how high or low you are off the finish level. also the price is half of a leica laser, as a subcontractor cost is a major thing. i don't mind spending money as long as it is worth spending. why are these cheaper the the lecia lasers. i see you have been going for 30yrs so you must be doing something right. what sort of after sales service do you offer. sean SJBuild Ltd 07725657790

    Hi Sean,

Thanks for your email and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Spectra, Stabila Leica and Topcon are all premium brand lasers, where as Fukuda is a mid-range laser brand a bit like, Stanley, Bosch and Dewalt.

As a company we probably sell more Fukuda lasers than any other brand, simply because our customers are very price conscious and Fukuda lasers offer a lot of value for money.

Fukuda lasers are not quite as tough as the premium lasers (but equally you are not paying the same price), but if treated correctly, will provide you with very good service.

If ultimately you want to stick to premium brand lasers then you may want to consider the Spectra HV302:

Alternatively, the Fukuda FRE-301R would be an excellent choice.

    I hope this helps.

Question:

I have a Fukuda FRE-301R, do you sell a floor to ceiling type pole I can mount it to for setting out?

Answers:

  • Posted by Laser Levels Online - Support on Thursday 19th of November 2015

    Hi Richard,

You will need a large "L" shaped mounting bracket to mount the FRE-301R on the pole and so the Stabila LT-30:

    http://www.laser-level.co.uk/products/stabila-rotary-lasers/stabila-premium-telescopic-support-kit.html

    would be the most suitable.

Stanley have a version of this but the platform is slightly too small to mount the laser.

    I hope this helps.

If you have any further questions or require any additional assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Question:

Model FRE-301R IP rating IP54 (Protected against dust / Protected against splashing water from any direction) I would appreciate if you could please confirm if that the above product is fully water proof or is it just slash resistant, also and could you also give your honest opinion re the above as compared with the Leica Rugby 610 for quality, back up, spares, etc.

Answers:

  • Posted by Laser Levels Online - Support on Thursday 4th of December 2014

    Hi,

    Thank you for your email.

The true translation of "fully waterproof" as an IP Rating would be IP68 (Totally protected against dust / Protected against long periods of immersion under pressure).

The Leica Rugby is IP67 which is Totally protected against dust / Protected against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m.

The Fukuda FRE-301R is IP54 which is Protected against dust; limited ingress (no harmful deposit) / Protection against water sprayed from all directions - limited ingress permitted.

The only IP67 Laser we carry is the Spectra UL633:

So on IP Rating alone, the Leica Rugby 610 would be better than the Fukuda FRE-301R, but the FRE-301R is lower priced item.

As a company we do not carry Lecia rotary or cross line lasers and so have no information on reliability, spares availability etc...
However, please be sure to read the reviews of the various Fukuda Lasers on our site.

If you have any further questions or require any additional assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best regards

    Hi Andrew,

this level is very similar to levels on ebay from china, is it same manufacturer ? . Looking to purchase reliable level thanks mark

Answers:

    Hi Mark,

Nearly all Lasers are made in the Far east, although don't let that put you off.

There are lots of product clones on eBay and so I cannot be sure if they all originate from the same manufacturer.

The Fukuda FRE-301R is made by Fukuda which is a mid-range Laser provider.

It comes with 12 months warranty. It's checked and calibrated by us prior to despatch and we carry all spares and can perform most repairs.

You are also dealing with a UK Ltd company that have been trading for over 30 years.

If you have any further questions or require any additional assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Question:

Hello, we are starting are self build home project in a few months and would like to purchase a laser level. The level will be required firstly for setting out the site/foundations etc and then obviously when building the actual walls of the building. I would like a laser level which can give acurate 90 deg corner/square measurements. Please could you direct me to a few choices which you would recommend anywhere around £200-600? Kind regards, Matthew

Answers:

  • Posted by Laser Levels Online - Support on Friday 18th of October 2013

    Hi Matthew,

The Fukuda FRE-301R will be ideally suited for this application:

    http://www.laser-level.co.uk/fre-301r-auto-rotary-laser-level.html

It's a self leveling red beam rotary which levels on both the horizontal and vertical which will allow you to have an accurate horizontal datum point around the site and also do setting out and squaring.

It has a range of 300m and an accuracy of +/- 3mm over 30 metres.

The Kit includes the FRE-301R rotary laser, the Detector (which has a front and rear display, up / down arrows and an audible tone) and an adjustable clamp, which will clamp on to any existing measuring staff. Also included is a Remote control (allowing you to operate the laser at distance), all the batteries and charging equipment, red laser glasses (to enhance the beam for internal work), red target plate and a robust foam lined hardbody case.

    I hope this helps.

If you have any further questions or require any additional assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best regards
