Product overview:

The EK-226P is a Professional Laser cross & squaring instrument for the Internal Trades, with extra outdoor capability when matched to an optional detector.

It has all the features of the LP412 but with a number of refinements: namely, a better range both with and without the detector and double the operating time. It is well- engineered with a smooth action, metal rotate base and fine adjustment screw.

The horizontal & vertical lines of the Cross and the extra vertical line set at right angles, can ALL be switched ON/OFF either independently or used together.

There is no need to buy a second instrument to set floor & ceiling squaring at 90 degrees. The EK-226P covers these operations too. Simply place the laser level on the floor, switch on both vertical beams & it will lay down two red lines at accurate right angles. A "downred dot" gives the intersection point.  Ideal for floor tiling, setting-out of stud walls, partitioning and machinery alignment etc.

No bubble levels are used as it aligns via an automatic, damped gravity system.

A transit latch is included for safety which physically locks the mechanism & isolates the power too.
If the instrument detects any inaccuracy, it will automatically switch off the lasers - restoring them again when back in range.
So no false levels can be given.

Hi i have a gp-8155 laser level for many years and it has stopped working, the laser lines do not operate and the detector also does not respond, is it possible to have this model repaired and at what cost ? Regards philip

  • Posted by Laser Levels Online - Support on Tuesday 1st of November 2016

    Hi Philip,

Sadly the GP-8155 was discontinued many years ago. It has since been superseded by the LP330 and after that was discontinued it was further replaced by the LP412.

We do not hold spares for your laser and if we did the cost or repair would likely exceed the cost of a new laser.

    Best regards

Hi, I'm looking to buy my first laser level and need some advice please. It will be used to assist my regular joinery work, fitting kitchens, bathrooms, wall and floor tiling, stud walls etc. and general setting out. My budget is £200, but for that, I'd need a fairly tough one to hopefully serve me well for a few years. I'd appreciate your help, cheers, John.

    Hi John,

Sadly the budget you have mentioned doesn't quite match your list of requirements and I am unclear if that is with or without VAT.

However, the DeWalt DW089K would be ideal:

but may or may not  be over budget.

Alternatively you could drop down to something like EK-226P which is may be more in line with your budget:

    I hope this helps.

If you have any further questions or require any additional assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.
    Best regards

Hi, Can you please tell me what the fan angle is for the EK-226p? i need a level for internal use (replacement floor screed) so was looking for a rotating model but i also need one for occasional external surveying (with detector and staff). I'm assuming that a rotating base would enable me to turn the unit accurately but cannot find the fan angle to see how often this may be needed. Thanks.

  • Posted by Laser Levels Online - Support on Monday 6th of October 2014

The fan angle of the horizontal red beam is approx. 120 degrees on the EK-226P. It does have a pulsed output for use with an optional FD-9R detector. See "tick box" in the site listing.

The rotate base can be easily turned by hand (very smootly engineered) & there is a fine adjusting cross-spindle - if required. A very well designed system.

Remember, if the laser is positioned right into the corner of a room, then just a single move is often adequate to cover the majority of the room's area.

Can the plumb dot be used when mounted on a tripod?

  • Posted by Laser Levels Online - Support on Wednesday 25th of June 2014

    The EK-226P has a 5/8 inch thread.

All surveying tripods we sell have a hollow 5/8 inch thread which will allow the beam to pass through.

So, Yes, the plumb dot can be seen if it is mounted on a tripod with a hollow thread.

If you have any further questions or require any additional assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.
