Detector Upgrades

Core Function Detector

Our Rotary Laser Level kits are typically supplied as standard with a "core function" Detector. A core function Detector has a front and rear-mounted liquid-crystal display which show Up & Down arrows as well as the Level datum. In addition, a corresponding audio tone is also output.

Upgrading the Detector

The most common reason customers choose to upgrade the Detector is to have a model which also displays the mm / inch value, to indicate the elevation or drop. As an example, in addition to showing you the down arrow, it will also show on screen: 10mm - 8mm - 5mm - 2mm - LEVEL. This makes it more efficient and greatly speeds up the setting out process. The higher specification Detectors also tend to have other features including a larger pickup window and LED indicators, although it varies for each model -so please check the exact specification.

Upgrade Price

When you choose to upgrade the Detector, we take out the standard core function Detector from the kit and replace it with your Detector choice. You then pay the difference in price between the two Detectors. This is why the upgrade is less than the price of the stand-alone Detector.
